Lest we forget…

In Flanders’ Fields the Poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders’ Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high,
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though Poppies grow
In Flanders’ Fields.

The good and the bad…

Well I’ll start with the bad first then work up to the good…

Some thieving scum of a bastard broke into my car on the weekend. Put a massive hole in my door and damaged the insides.

As far as I can see they didn’t knick anything, left my subs, amps, stereo, phone headset and all my CD’s… all of em! Obviously they didn’t fancy my mates Hobbits mix cd 8)

BASTARDS! grrr

At least tonight was better. When I finally got home I went for a drink with Ian and his GF and friends to Hobbits. Was fairly quiet ( but it is a Tuesday! ) but the usual friendly crowd were there, which was nice.

Sadly I couldn’t stay till the end as I have work in the morning, and I’ve got to drive to North East London to do some worky computery stuff…. fun fun fun! Gotta get up at 6am and leave at 7… it’s already 1am! Didn’t really think tonight through but I really needed a beer and relax after all the other crap thats happened recently.

Anyway’s tis time to leave you all… and I’ve just remembered that Lisa’s written ‘I AM A SEXGOD’ on my hand but it really really looks like SEXGOP! What on earth is one of those?! ?

Another non stop weekend!

Two days of non stop drinking, dancing and the odd bit of sleep thrown in for good measure!

I’m finally starting to sober up which is a good thing as I have work in 5 hours!

Saturday night was really nice. Even though we only went to three pubs ( Dominion, Phoenix and Hobbits ) it was a great atmosphere and a good laugh. I think it was because so many of us were out, which recently makes a change, plus loads of peeps I’ve not seen for ages were out and everyone seemed to be in a happy mood. Good times.

My plan of not picking up shiny things after last weekends ‘incidents’ failed though on both nites, and I woke up today with a glow stick wrist band on me! Don’t ask! I really have no idea. :)

One image is still making me chuckle now, a photograph of an Rover Metro car club meeting rofl Sorry! But c’mon it is funny! wink

Well it’s probably about time I tried to get some sleep, I’ve got a busy day tomorrow and have to help out at a firework display in the evening! ( Hwang, gunpowder and matches even scares me! ).

Oh and only another five days till the weekend. :D

Happy Birthday!

It’s my mums birthday today so I’m off for a lovely meal at Dimitri’s Taverna.

I just got home from a long hard day at work ;) and was really looking forward to a few cold beers and a nice expensive meal, when I got reminded that a couple of months ago I ‘volunteered’ to drive my family so that they can all drink! Grrr!

At least my dad seemed to be caring and asked how I was feeling today, and if my throat was any better, could I taste anything etc.

‘Well’, I replied, ‘it’s not too bad but my taste buds are still a bit off’. He smiled and said ‘that’s saved me some money then as your not having anything expensive if you can’t taste it :) ‘.

Double Grrr!

Anyways, gotta shoot now, I ‘the taxi’ awaits!

I’m bored! So….

Underground, Overground, Wombling Free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we.
Making good use of the things that we find,
Things that the everyday folks leave behind.

Uncle Bulgaria,
He can remember the days when
he wasn’t behind The Times,
With his map of the World.
Pick up the papers and take them to Tobermory!

Wombles are organized, work as a team.
Wombles are tidy and Wombles are clean.
Underground, Overground, wombling free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we!

People don’t notice us, they never see,
Under their noses a Womble may be.
We womble by night and we womble by day,
Looking for litter to trundle away.

We’re so incredibly, utterly devious
Making the most of everything.
Even bottles and tins.
Pick up the pieces and make them into something new,
Is what we do!
