Well a lot has happened since my last update.
I guess the most important was the marriage of two of my friends, Mike and Harry. They got married on Monday 12th June at a very unusual location. The SS Great Britain! It was a lovely day and evening with lots of free champagne and wine!
Apart from knocking over my glass during the first speech, I don’t think I made too much of a pratt of myself
And I do think they both had a brilliant time. Congratulations to you both yet again, may you have many happy years together.
I’ve been off work since Friday for a few days holiday, seeing as my parents and brother are away at the moment. It’s so nice to have the place to myself, relaxing and doing what I want for a change. Although running out of money after a long weekend drinking hasn’t helped. Last nights meal was two Rivitas and peanut butter! Thank god it’s pay day tomoz!
It was a very long weekend this time around, which included a ‘gathering’ around my house. It was a nice turn out which always helps. Plus I’ve been left with almost two crates of beer, which is always a bonus.
It looks like one relationships has ended sadly, but also looks like one is about to bloom. You know who you are so you know I’m thinking about both of you. Hope everything works out.
Well, not an exciting update really, but an update none the less. I’m off for a bit of Karaoke after work tonight which should be entertaining but don’t worry, I won’t sing

Every darkest sky has a shining ray.
We’ll thankfully it’s Friday today. 6 hours left till I finish work but that should be broken up by a visit to the pub in a bit. Surprisingly it will be only my second pint of the week!
I managed to survive the Scout camp ( AxeJam 06 ) and amazingly no one was hurt this year. In between looking after the lads all day, I ran the rifle range for the time I was there! 150 ish Scouts and me with 4 live rifles! It was very good though, but a lot of work and quite stressful at times. Having a 9 year old point a live gun at your head, with the safety off, saying ‘Can I shoot now’ is quite scary.
That’s the end of my leadership for a few months though as I have taken some time off to decide if I want to stay with Scouts or move to a different age group, like Cubs ( younger ) or Explorers ( older ). Plus it now means I have Tuesday nights free to go swimming again. So if anyone fancies going for a few hours at Hutton Moore every week let me know.
I’ve quite a busy weekend ahead of me. Off to see Miss Saigon tonight in Bristol which should be interesting. To be honest the story doesn’t really appeal to me, but I’ve heard so many good reviews it would be silly to miss the opportunity. Then off to see a band called Lemon Venom on Saturday night. Sadly driving but then back to Weston to catch the tail end of Mikes stag do ( part 1 ).
I saw The Da Vinci Code last night at the cinema. I don’t see what all the fuss is about. As someone who believes in God, a Roman Catholic confirmed Church of England, I wasn’t offended, shocked and I enjoyed the film for what it was, a good entertaining story. Why is it that people these days can’t listen and understand other peoples points of views without going up in arms about them. Then again, this is religion we are talking about, the biggest killer known to man, why change thousands of years of violence, hate and bloodshed now?
Who’s up for a good old fashioned stoning down the park?
